This 1953 classic was directed by Bengali film director Bimal Roy and had Balraj Sahni and Nirupa Roy in lead roles. This film is based on one of the Italian Neo - realistic cinema. This film is a combination of art and commercial cinema and is looked upon as a benchmark movie.This is the first film to win an Internation award in the Cannes Film festival. Do Bigha Zamin can be listed according to me in the Top ten List of Bollywood Movies of all times.

9. BOBBY


This 1973 film was made under the banner of RK Films and produced and directed by the Showman Raj Kapoor. This film was widely popular. Dimple Kapadia made her debut and it was the first leading role of Raj Kapoor's son, Rishi Kapoor. This film was a trend setter in its own way. The genre of teenage romance with a rich vs poor clash as a backdrop was first introduced in Bollywood. Numerous films later on was made with this theme. This film became a huge blockbuster and was also the highest grosser in the decade of 70's.

8. ANAND


Anand was released in 1971 and is the best film of director Hrishikesh Mukherjee. A strong storyline and power packed performances by Rajesh Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan has made Anand one of the best movies of all times in Hindi cinema.The music of the film (Music Director: Salil Chowdhury) is also very evergreen. The "BabuMashai" is still very popular and is associated with Amitabh Bachchan. The maic of Anand can be felt still now.

7. QAYAMAT SE QAYAMAT TAK



Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak popularly known as QSQT was released in 1988. This Nasir Hussain film is one of the biggest romantic hits of all times. This film marks the debut of Amir Khan and Juhi Chawla. QSQT will be known for its romantic numbers. Music by Anand Milind and playback by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, the songs have stolen the hearts of many youth at that time. The romantic storyline and the young actors shifted the momentum away from the violet and aging ethos that were prevalent in films at that time.

6. HUM AAPKE HAIN KAUN



Hum Aapke Hai Kaun was released in 1994. This film is produced by Rajshri Productions and directed by Sooraj Barjatiya. Starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit, HAHK went to be one of the biggest hits of all times. This is a musical hit, music score by Raam Laxman. This film is a remake of Rajshri productions earlier film "Nadiya Ke Paar". This film is one of the biggest grossers in the history of Hindi cinema. It is one of the best family entertainers.

5. DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE


Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge was released in 1995. This film is under the banner of Yash Raj Films. This marks the directoral debut of Aditya Chopra and is produced by his late father Yash Chopra. The film is a romantic commedy and is the story of two young couple who fall in love in an European Vacation and how the boy later on wins over the heart of the girl's parents to marry her. The film stars Sharukh Khan, Kajol and Amrish Puri. This film has been the among the biggest blockbuster in Hindi Cinema. It remains as the longest running film in the History of Indian cinema. As of 2012, this film is still running in Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai.

4. MUGHAL-E-AZAM


Mughal-e-Azam is an Indian Period Epic Film released in 1960 and directed by K.Asif. The project span of this film is almost 15 years. The film underwent a troubled production facing a number of problems and haults. But ultimately when it released there was no stopping as it became one of the biggest blockbuster hits. The story is based on the love story of Salim and Anarkali, it has become one of the best love stories in Bollywood History. The song "Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya" is still now as popular as it was then. Starring, Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Madhubala, this film is really one of the biggest Indian film ever.
